Belgium secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Türkiye in the UEFA Nations League match held in Liege on Friday, marking Türkiye’s third consecutive loss in the tournament. Kevin De Bruyne led the charge for Belgium, scoring twice and showcasing his skill and precision on the field.
De Bruyne initially broke the deadlock after a neat exchange with Dodi Lukebakio, culminating in a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area. Despite Türkiye’s efforts to find an equalizer, their attempts fell short as De Bruyne extended Belgium’s lead with a stunning curling effort into the top corner.
Romelu Lukaku, who was introduced as a substitute in the 61st minute, added the third goal for Belgium 15 minutes later. Charles De Ketelaere set up Lukaku with a low cross, which he converted from close range, sealing the victory for the home side.
This defeat leaves Türkiye at the bottom of Group A1, having failed to secure any points from their three matches so far. Meanwhile, Belgium’s win propels them to six points, just one point shy of group leaders France.
Looking ahead, Türkiye will face Italy on October 5. However, they will have to contend with the absence of key players Arda Güler and Barış Alper Yılmaz, who are suspended due to yellow card accumulations.
