Türkiye, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan have jointly called for an end to Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories, emphasizing a halt to settlement expansion and the forced displacement of Palestinians. Following a meeting of their foreign ministers in Istanbul, the countries issued a statement advocating for a two-state solution as a means to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East.

The ministers reaffirmed the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and supported the creation of an independent Palestinian state based on the borders as they existed on June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. They condemned Israeli settlement activities in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, as well as attacks by settlers on Palestinian communities.

In addition, the statement emphasized the need for unrestricted humanitarian aid to Gaza and urged urgent reconstruction efforts. Regarding broader regional tensions involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, the four countries stressed the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to avoid further escalation. They called on all parties to ensure the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure while supporting efforts towards a negotiated settlement.

The statement also highlighted the critical importance of maintaining freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, warning that disruptions could threaten global energy, fertilizer, and food supplies. The ministers called for the restoration of safe and uninterrupted maritime passage.

On the situation in Yemen, the countries condemned Houthi attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, civilian infrastructure, and commercial shipping in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb Strait. They advocated for an end to military operations and urged the Houthis to return to the political process.

Türkiye expressed its intention to continue backing diplomatic initiatives and regional coordination to address security challenges and promote peace. The four countries agreed to continue consultations concerning regional conflicts, humanitarian concerns, and long-term stability.
