Türkiye has expressed strong disapproval of recent Israeli airstrikes in southern Syria, citing concerns over violations of Syria’s sovereignty and potential threats to regional stability. The Turkish Foreign Ministry has specifically pointed out that these strikes, which targeted areas in Quneitra and Daraa, breach Syria’s territorial integrity, contravene international law, and infringe upon the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement.

In its statement, Türkiye emphasized the risks posed by these attacks, highlighting the potential to exacerbate humanitarian conditions and endanger civilian lives. The Turkish government also warned that such military actions could undermine ongoing efforts to restore stability and peace in Syria.

Turkish officials have called on the international community to take decisive action to prevent further military escalations that could heighten tensions in the region. They urged countries to collaborate in efforts to curb such attacks, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding civilian lives and maintaining regional stability.

Burhanettin Duran, Türkiye’s Communications Director, joined the chorus of criticism, arguing that the Israeli strikes jeopardize Syria’s security and hinder progress towards achieving long-lasting peace. Duran’s comments underline Türkiye’s commitment to supporting Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity as essential components for ensuring regional security.

Türkiye reaffirmed its dedication to these principles, stressing that they are vital for achieving stability and peace in the broader region. The Turkish stance reflects a broader call for international cooperation in addressing the ongoing challenges faced by Syria and its people.
