In celebration of 55 years of diplomatic ties, Türkiye and China are strengthening their bilateral relations, focusing on enhanced cooperation across various sectors such as trade, connectivity, technology, energy, and regional affairs. Türkiye’s Ambassador to China, Selçuk Ünal, highlighted the deep historical connections between the two nations, dating back to the Silk Road era, which facilitated trade, cultural exchanges, and diplomatic interactions between these ancient civilizations.

Formally established in 1971, the diplomatic relationship between Türkiye and China has grown considerably over the decades. China has emerged as Türkiye’s largest trading partner, with their bilateral trade volume exceeding $50 billion annually. This robust trade partnership underscores the importance both countries place on economic ties and mutual growth.

Connectivity between Türkiye and China has also been on the rise, with an increasing number of passenger and cargo flights linking key cities in both countries. To support this growing interaction, Türkiye has expanded its diplomatic footprint in China by opening multiple consulates and bolstering economic engagements.

Ambassador Ünal emphasized that both nations are keen on boosting cooperation in pivotal sectors such as artificial intelligence, green energy, infrastructure, and commerce. He noted that Ankara and Beijing share aligned perspectives on various international and regional issues, particularly those related to peace, stability, development, and conflict prevention.

Guided by the strategic vision of their leaders, Türkiye and China are committed to advancing their partnership with a focus on long-term economic growth and regional collaboration. This shared vision aims to foster a robust alliance that not only benefits both countries but also contributes positively to broader regional and global stability.
