by admin477351

Denmark’s 2-0 victory over Wales in Copenhagen has left the Welsh team at the bottom of their Nations League Group A4, following a challenging start with two matches without a point or a goal. The defeat compounded Wales’ struggles after a 1-0 loss to Portugal in their opening match.

During the first half, Denmark dominated the game, creating numerous chances and even hitting the post, while Wales found it difficult to gain traction. Though Wales improved towards the end of the half, they were unable to break the deadlock.

Denmark took the lead in the 53rd minute when Mikkel Damsgaard’s free-kick resulted in an own goal by Wales defender Ben Davies. The lead was extended in the 66th minute as Gustav Isaksen scored with a deflected shot following a defensive lapse by Wales.

Despite having further opportunities, Denmark could not increase their lead. Wales’ late attempt to get on the scoreboard was nullified when Ethan Ampadu’s goal was disallowed due to a foul.

Wales manager Craig Bellamy acknowledged Denmark’s superiority, recognizing the difficulty of the result while emphasizing the team’s commitment to improvement. Looking ahead, Wales will face Norway before a rematch with Denmark in Cardiff as they aim to turn around their Nations League campaign.
