by admin477351

In a bid to bolster regional security and cooperation, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is set to visit the United Arab Emirates for discussions that will focus on crucial geopolitical issues involving Iran, Gaza, and Lebanon. This visit marks Fidan’s second trip to the UAE since March, signifying the importance both nations place on addressing regional tensions.

During the talks, Fidan is expected to emphasize the necessity for enhanced regional collaboration to manage conflicts and minimize external interventions. The discussions will also cover the critical need to ensure the freedom of navigation through strategic maritime choke points such as the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which are vital for international trade.

Turkey and the UAE will also address developments in Gaza, focusing on the implementation of the second phase of the peace plan, humanitarian aid, and reconstruction efforts. Both countries, as founding members of the Board of Peace, are anticipated to align their activities to foster stability and support ceasefire efforts in Gaza and Lebanon.

The visit will also serve as a preparatory step for the upcoming meeting of the Türkiye-UAE High-Level Strategic Council. The council, which had its inaugural leaders’ meeting in Ankara in July 2025, is a testament to the strategic partnership the two countries have maintained since 2023. The UAE stands as Türkiye’s largest trading partner in the Gulf, with bilateral trade reaching $19.346 billion in 2025.

As the two nations engage in dialogue, their coordinated efforts are likely to play a significant role in promoting peace and security in the region, underscoring the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement in a complex geopolitical landscape.
