Türkiye and Saudi Arabia have announced plans to enhance their cooperation in the justice sector after a meeting between Turkish Justice Minister Akın Gürlek and Saudi Justice Minister Walid bin Muhammad Al Samaani in Ankara. The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in judicial reforms, legal expertise, and digital justice initiatives, underscoring the importance of strengthening legal systems in both nations.
The meeting highlighted Türkiye’s readiness to share its advancements in judicial digitalization, particularly through its National Judiciary Informatics System (UYAP). This system, which incorporates artificial intelligence-supported legal services and cybersecurity measures, was offered as a model for Saudi Arabia. Additionally, Türkiye extended its expertise in alternative dispute resolution and judicial cooperation, aligning with broader strategic visions in both countries, namely Türkiye’s “Century of Türkiye Vision” and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
Both ministers emphasized the significance of fostering a robust partnership to build more efficient and modern justice systems. They agreed that increased official exchanges and direct cooperation among legal professionals from both countries would not only strengthen bilateral ties but also improve access to justice.
