Following a Cabinet meeting in Ankara, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan clarified that his administration is not involved in the internal disagreements plaguing the country’s main opposition party. He urged political figures to prioritize national concerns over party rivalries, emphasizing that these internal disputes are solely the responsibility of the opposition and should not affect the government’s focus.
Erdoğan reaffirmed the ruling alliance’s dedication to Türkiye’s development and stability, highlighting the government’s commitment to addressing issues that impact all citizens. He cautioned against any attempts to stir political tension or disrupt social order, stressing the importance of safeguarding the country’s democratic framework and public peace.
In his remarks, Erdoğan called for unity and collaboration on vital national matters, underscoring the government’s initiatives to bolster security and ensure long-term stability. He encouraged political stakeholders to engage constructively in efforts to tackle the challenges facing Türkiye.
His comments coincide with ongoing divisions within the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), where leadership conflicts and legal challenges linked to the 2023 party congress have heightened uncertainty about its direction ahead of the next general election.
Despite these internal political conflicts, Erdoğan reiterated his government’s commitment to prioritizing national interests, fostering social cohesion, and promoting economic growth. He emphasized an inclusive governance approach, aiming to unite the nation in addressing and overcoming its challenges.
